Worship
As the Westminster Catechism says, the highest purpose of humanity is to “glorify God and enjoy Him forever”. With that in mind, we recognize that worship – glorifying and enjoying God – needs to be at the heart of everything we are and do as a church family. An important part of our life of worship is our time together on Sunday mornings, when we focus our hearts and minds on Jesus through singing and prayer and reflection on His word.
Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:00 am and runs for roughly 75 to 90 minutes. Our music is a blend of contemporary worship with guitar led classics. Our messages are built on the Scriptures and explore our walk with Jesus. We always enjoy tasty treats and a chance to connect after service during our Coffee Hour.
Mid-Week Bible Studies
At Hope, it is our conviction that knowing and loving and following Jesus is what our life together is all about. As His disciples, we are committed to growing in our intimacy with Him and deepening our familiarity with His perspectives and priorities, so that we can align our hearts and lives more and more with His own. The best way we know to pursue all this is to spend time together studying the accounts of His life and teachings and actions as they are found in the biblical Gospels.
We gather every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm and every Wednesday morning at 10:00 am for Bible Studies. We cover the same material in both studies, and have been taking our time working through the Gospels.
We call these studies “Yesterday, Today, and Forever” (YTF), based on Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” This reminds us of the fact that the Jesus we encounter in the Gospels is the very same Jesus who is our Lord and Savior, and who is with us always sharing His love and grace and power.
Sunday Morning Bible Studies
In addition to our mid-week studies, Josh Davis, Hope’s Director of Ministry, leads a Bible study every Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Josh does a great job digging deep and facilitating the group’s exploration of what God has for us in His word.
Children & Youth
We have a variety of activities for our younger members.
Each Sunday, Hope offers Sunday School for toddlers up through high schoolers. Everyone starts the morning together in worship, then elementary-age kids head off to class before the message. Junior and senior highers stay and listen to the message, then head out afterwards to discuss it together with a leader.
We periodically host fun activities for kids. Keep an eye on our “Hope In Rogue River” Facebook page, and let us know if you would like to be included in our email list for updates!
Also, we are working in partnership with Rogue River Young Life to offer fun and meaningful encouragement for our high schoolers while reaching out to the youth of our community. Club meetings are held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the gym of Rogue River Assembly of God (270 W. Evans Creek Road).
Hope is working on building up its family ministries, and would love to partner with you in doing it!
Local Outreach
The people of Hope are involved in a number of efforts to reach out and bless our community with the love of Jesus.
Our Deacons work to coordinate our resources towards helping meet the needs of people while they face particular challenges. Their “Care Networks” organize meals, transportation, home repair, and other means of support for our members and our neighbors around us. Feel free to call our church office at 541-582-3282 if we can be of help.
Our Neighborhood Garden is nurtured by our Garden Team and provides produce for everyone who welcomes it! Call the church office if you would like to learn specifics about our distribution!
Mission
Hope has been connected with various mission efforts across the world, offering support through friendship, prayer, and monetary gifts.
Our key international mission connection is with “Pastor T” and his efforts in Myanmar. We have enjoyed an active relationship with Pastor T since 2005, and regularly support the wide variety of ministries he leads, including a school for local children, outreach ministries at the national university, and training and support for indigenous pastors across the country.
